Nimet Gatar
Gatar graduated from the Department of Archaeology in 2011. Between 2016-2018, she worked on gender studies as a member of the editorial board and editor of the Journal of Jineolojî. Between 2019-2021, she studied ‘Representations of women in the new period Kurdish Cinema’ in her Sociology Master's degree. In 2021, she worked on ‘Masculinity in the Kurdish Cinema’ with Hamit Bozarslan at Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales/EHESS Paris as part of the Erasmus internship project. She is currently a PhD student in the Department of Sociology at Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales/EHESS, working on her thesis on “Representations of Masculinity in Kurdish Cinema” with Hamit Bozarslan and Lucie Drechselová.
Her first feminist documentary GotûbeJin premiered at the 1st Düsseldorf Kurdish Film Festival in April 2024.
Gatar schloss ihr Studium der Archäologie im Jahr 2011 ab. Von 2016-2018 arbeitete sie als Redaktionsmitglied und Herausgeberin der Zeitschrift Jineolojî im Bereich Gender Studies.
