In rural Armenia, the young Yazidi woman Zare lives in a traditional village community. She loves the young Saydo, but her future is shaped by family expectations and social conventions. When Zare is forced into marriage, her love comes into conflict with the traditions and constraints of her community. Hamo Beknazarian tells a moving story about love, social constraints and the desire for self-determination, while offering a rare glimpse into the life, customs and social structures of the Kurdish-Yazidi community in Armenia in the 1920s.
