During Eid al-Adha in Istanbul, Fahri Ergün’s courtyard becomes a space where only Dimilî is spoken. As speakers gather to keep their endangered mother tongue alive, Fahri,a Dimilî poet and grandson of Kurdish figure Hasan Hilmi Bey,reflects on the struggle to preserve a language that his own children and grandchildren no longer speak.
